New Certified Emergency and Disaster Professional (CEDP) credential launched by the International Board for Certification of Safety Managers

The International Board for Certification of Safety Managers (IBFCSM), a not-for-profit credentialing organization founded in 1976, has announced the launch of the Certified Emergency and Disaster Professional (CEDP) credential.

IBFCSM established the CEDP credential to meet the need for a practical credential for those working in the public, private, and governmental positions related to emergency, disaster, and contingency management.

Candidates can qualify for the CEDP without a four-year degree by documenting relevant experience, training, and achievement.

The CEDP Exam addresses emergency protection, planning, management, response, and mitigation concepts. It also addresses emergency related standards, principles, and/or best practices from organizations such as: FEMA, DHS, DHHS, NFPA, ASTM, ANSI, NRC, CDC, EPA, and OSHA.
