Phoenix IT picks up Business Continuity Provider of the Year award for its VDR platform at the Business Continuity Institute European Awards

Phoenix, the leading provider of Business Continuity and IT Managed Services across the UK, has been named as Business Continuity Provider of the Year in the Product category at the prestigious Business Continuity Institute (BCI) European Awards, held in Amsterdam on Wednesday evening (21st May).

The award was in recognition of Phoenix’s Virtual Disaster Recovery (VDR) platform. The platform, powered by Asigra, is a pioneering solution, developed in response to the challenges business continuity practitioners face as a result of a shift towards virtualisation and other alternatives to traditional IT infrastructure. The VDR platform forms a central element of Phoenix’s Disaster Recovery as a Service suite of solutions that leverages Asigra, HP and NetApp technology combined with 25 years of IT recovery expertise to deliver full data recovery via the cloud.

The BCI European Awards recognise the outstanding contribution of business continuity professionals and organisations operating in Europe. In addition to winning this category, Phoenix was also nominated in three other categories - Business Continuity Consultant of the Year, Business Continuity Innovation of the Year and Business Continuity Provider of the Year (Service) in which Phoenix was highly commended.

As a result of winning this BCI European Award, Phoenix will automatically be entered into the Business Continuity Provider of the Year (Product) category at the BCI Global Awards 2014 that take place in November 2014.

Commenting on the award, Mike Osborne, Managing Director of Business Continuity at Phoenix, said: “Since establishing our BC business 25 years ago, we have been committed to developing innovative products and services to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers, helping them to become more resilient through our Recover Smarter initiative. An award such as this one from the BCI is great recognition and I am delighted that our people have also been highly commended on the same night that our technology has won an award. It's the blend of the two that makes us industry leaders.”

This is Phoenix’s second award in the past week, having been awarded BT ICT Partner of the Year for its Managed Services division.
