National infrastructure protection: emerging technologies The UK Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) has published a document which aims to start discussions on emerging technologies that are likely to impact on cyber security. ‘National infrastructure protection: emerging technologies’ is the result of a CPNI project that looked at technologies and techniques that are considered to be relevant to the future protection of UK national infrastructure. A total of 32 topics are considered, all being related to cyber security. Where possible, the topics are linked to the SANS Top 20 Critical Security Controls for Effective Cyber Defence.
