ISO 22301 gains final approval TC223, the ISO Technical Committee that has been developing the ISO 22301 international business continuity management standard, has voted to approve the FDIS (Final Draft International Standard). This means that the standard can now be published. It is currently expected that it will be available by the end of the second quarter of 2012. Its official title will be ‘ISO 22301 Societal security -- Business continuity management systems.’ There is as yet no definitive guidance on when BS 25999 part two will be withdrawn and what the certification transition period will be. To help business continuity professionals understand more about ISO 22301 and the related transition issues Continuity Central has scheduled a free webinar. This will take place on April 25th and will be presented by our guest standards expert Hilary Estall.
