Calls made to make business continuity planning mandatory for Caribbean organizations

According to Caribbean360, pressure is bring placed on the government of Barbados and other Caribbean governments to “mandate every company, regardless of size, to have a business continuity plan in place, as this would build resilience in the supply chain”.

The initial recommendation came from Bob Turnbull, a business continuity consultant who is collaborating with the Barbados International Business Association (BIBA) to host a one-day workshop on April 6 entitled “Business Continuity Management – Your Lifeline to Surviving.”

Turnbull believes that not only should Caribbean entities all be compelled to have a business continuity plan, but those plans should be externally audited at least once per year.
