Report looks at the international development of cyber security standards for the Internet of Things

The US Interagency International Cybersecurity Standardization Working Group (IICS WG) has published a new report which presents the findings of its Internet of Things (IoT) Task Group's examination of current cyber security standards for the IoT. 

The 'Interagency Report on the Status of International Cybersecurity Standardization for the Internet of Things (IoT)' is intended for use by the working group member agencies to assist them in their standards planning and to help coordinate US Government participation in international cybersecurity standardization for IoT. Private sector organizations will also find this document useful in their cyber security and IoT planning.

The report describes five IoT technology application areas which 'are sufficiently representative to use in analyzing the present state of IoT cybersecurity standardization'. These are:
