The results of the Bank of England’s 2022 H1 Systemic Risk Survey shows that the UK’s financial sector firms view of current key risks is changing. Firms are currently most concerned about cyber, geopolitical and inflation-related risks; with pandemic risks slipping down the order.

The 2022 H1 Systemic Risk Survey ran between 24th January and 14th February, concluding before the Russian invasion of Ukraine. It asked financial market participants how confident they are in the UK financial system and what risks they think the system is facing.

The results show that the current top five risks are:

  1. Cyber attack
  2. Geopolitical risk
  3. Inflation risk
  4. Pandemic
  5. Operational risk
