Resilience First appoints Rick Cudworth as new Chair

Resilience First has announced that it has appointed Rick Cudworth as its new Chair. Rick succeeds Simon Collins who stepped down at the end of 2022 after being involved since Resilience First’s foundation in 2018.

Rick is a senior advisor in organizational resilience and strategic risk mitigation and is a founding partner of resilience and crisis specialists ResilienC. With over 20 years’ experience as a Partner at Deloitte and KPMG, he was also Chair of the British Standards Institution Technical Committee for Continuity and Resilience, where he has been influential in the development of British and International Standards in the field.  He is a member of the Cabinet Office Behavioural Science Expert Group as part of the National Security Risk Assessment process for the UK, and a visiting professor at King's College London and visiting fellow at Cranfield University School of Management. He was a contributor and co-editor of the National Preparedness Commission’s report: ‘Resilience Reimagined: A Practical Guide for Organisations’.

Commenting on his appointment, Rick stated: “I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Chair of Resilience First, and to be able to follow on from Simon Collins who has done a tremendous job as Chair over recent years – thank you Simon, it’s an honour to do so! As Resilience First embarks on its new strategy, which shows great ambition and includes many exciting ideas to support and engage with members in the future, I look forward to being able to contribute my experience and thoughts. I especially look forward to engaging with members too!”
