Global mobile outages: lessons learned survey

On 6th December 2018, an issue with nodes in the core network of Ericsson, an ICT provider which handles around 40 percent of the world's mobile traffic, resulted in downtime for mobile data services around the world. Continuity Central is running a quick survey which aims to capture information about the impacts this incident had on organizations and what contingency measures were taken in response.

The Business Continuity Institute's Global Awards were presented on the evening of the 6th November at a Gala Dinner during the BCI World Conference 2018. The winners of the BCI’s various regional awards are automatically entered into the Global Awards, which complete the Institute’s annual awards programme.

BSI to officially launch new crisis management technical guidance

At an event in London on 11th December, BSI will officially launch the PD CEN/TS 17091 European technical specification for crisis management. Aimed at organizations of all sizes, the new guidance gives organizations ‘good practice guidance on how to prepare for, anticipate, respond to and recover from crises’.

The report has received significant criticism from business continuity consultant and author David Lindstedt.
