With less than 50 days to go until the date which has been fixed for the UK to leave the European Union, a recent YouGov survey shows that a third of UK businesses believe that they are not ready for the event.

The YouGov B2B Omnibus survey finds that while a second referendum where Remain wins out is the preferred outcome of 50 percent of senior decision makers in British business, they are actually most likely to expect a No Deal Brexit (49 percent).

YouGov’s survey consulted a representative sample of 1,020 people in senior manager roles and above across all industries – including manufacturing, retail, IT and telecoms. When asked ‘In general how prepared or unprepared do you currently feel your business is for Brexit’ the results were as follows:

Of those who see a No Deal Brexit as likely, four in ten (37 percent) say their business is not prepared for such an outcome. Just half (52 percent) feel ready. Overall, one in three (33 percent) say they feel unprepared for Brexit in general.
