The primary function of the Business Continuity Plan Administrator is to ensure that the corporate business continuity program is thoroughly developed and maintained on a regular basis and that the plan appropriately meets the business need.  The position will be responsible for performing regular updates to the Business Continuity Plan and corresponding system, overseeing plan reviews, and tabletops and disaster recovery exercises.   The position will develop and maintain processes and controls that will leverage BAU business processes such as Governance, P&P publication process, etc. to feed data into the BCP to ensure that the plan is updated with changes to business needs and resources on a near real-time basis. 

Job role

  • Integrate the BCP to ensure the plan constantly aligns with active departmental resources
  • Integrate with Vendor Management processes to ensure the plan constantly aligns with active vendor resources
  • Integrate with other appropriate business processes including IT Change Control, Governance, Policy and Procedure publication, etc. to ensure the plan consistently represents current business processes and technology infrastructures
  • Work with key business partners including IT and Facilities to ensure the BCP represents an achievable target and that the plan provides clear actions plans for each level/ category of events
  • Work with all business channels and departments to ensure that the BCP consistently represents the business need and ensure that all partners agree that the plan is practical and achievable
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, and directives regarding business continuity and disaster recovery protocols for each Fay entity
  • Manage the BCP Vendor
  • Schedule plan review meetings and work across all Fay entities to review existing plans
  • Plan analysis for gaps or cross-over functions/systems
  • Remediation of plan gaps
  • Work with Vendor Management to act as SME on Vendor BCP due diligence and clear BCP/DR SIG questions for the due diligence process
  • Schedule updates of plans as they change
  • Coordinate plan approvals
  • Schedule annual tabletop exercises
  • Present plan updates/changes to C level
  • Work closely with vendor management to identify new critical vendors that could potentially affect the plan(s)
  • Maintain subject matter expertise in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
  • Utilize subject matter expertise to review and respond to all vendor BCP/DR due diligence SIG questions
  • Develop domain knowledge of Fay’s business to include an understanding of short and long-term goals
  • Maintain broad influence through the ongoing development of relationships across the organization
  • Ensure compliance with Fay’s policies, processes, and practices
  • Role model ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
