Job role
- The IS Business Continuity and Risk Officer is accountable to Team Leader, IS Governance and Improvement for the provision of service continuity and disaster recovery planning and support, as part of, and in close co-operation with both Information Services functions and the Department’s corporate business continuity function. This includes the co-ordination of planning, designing, testing and maintenance of procedures and contingency plans to meet the Department’s needs.
- The role also undertakes planning and implementation of Directorate-wide processes and procedures for the management and reporting of risks to the delivery of the Directorate’s services. This includes working with managers and team members across Information Services as well as the corporate risk function to identify mitigations and controls. The role plays an important part in driving a risk-based culture across the Directorate.
- The role collaboratively works with and coaches other IS Governance and Improvement team members to ensure cross-skilling across the team and contributes to the development and execution of other IS Assurance strategies (ie COBIT guidance, maturity assessments and uplift), work programs and outcomes and contributes to the development of Directorate business plans and monitoring of progress towards objectives.
