ADAM Continuity partners with Capital Continuity to offer Business Interruption Protection
Capital Continuity has announced that ADAM Continuity will offer Capital Continuity’s Business Interruption Protection software (BIPs) as part of its services. BIPs will enhance ADAM Continuity’s complete continuity management offering with enterprise-level replication, recovery and migration services for customers in uniform or diverse environments.

ADAM’s backup and recovery service manages 40,000 backup jobs for clients a month. The addition of the BIPs solution furthers the company’s move to support solutions that go beyond traditional backup into replication for seamless migrations and immediate recoveries.

BIPs gives ADAM Continuity the ability to support:

  • On-premise, cloud or hybrid deployments
  • Physical or Virtual Machines
  • Real-time cross system consistent replication with any hypervisor or storage vendor
  • Near instant system recoveries
  • Full automation for protection, recovery and non-disruptive testing of systems.

Symantec and HP sign disaster recovery as-a-service agreement
Symantec and HP Enterprise Services have announced a joint partnership to develop a new disaster recovery as-a-service (DRaaS) solution based on HP Helion OpenStack. The HP Helion and Symantec Continuity offering will help enterprise and SMB customers to minimize recovery times, data loss, and associated downtime costs.

When the new DRaaS product is made generally available in late 2015, co-delivery will be provided from both partners with client onboarding supported by joint teams. As part of the partnership, Symantec provides the DRaaS software solution, while HP provides the end-to-end service based on the underlying disaster recovery facilities, infrastructure, and operations team.

The new DRaaS solution will run on an HP Helion OpenStack-based cloud environment and will support replication, recovery and automated failover/failback of client IT whether it's traditional IT on-premises, managed cloud, private cloud or public cloud.

Pricing will be based on a monthly subscription fee according to the size/type of server and amount of storage to be protected. This as-a-service pricing model is projected to achieve up to 50 percent cost reduction over an equivalent in-house solution.

BCI named Training Resource of the Year
The Business Continuity Institute has been named Training Resource of the Year (Business Continuity) at the prestigious ACQ Global Awards.

Deborah Higgins, head of learning and development at the BCI, said: “The BCI and our international network of training partners and instructors have invested a lot into ensuring that business continuity practitioners are offered the highest standard of teaching. To be named Training Resource of the Year (Business Continuity) is great recognition of all this effort and something we are extremely proud of. It is important that we do not rest on our laurels however, but use this award as inspiration to develop our services further and continue to provide the best training to those working in the industry all across the world.”

"Exceptional individuals, teams and firms across the marketplace represent the very best in their field from around the world and truly deserve the accolade of being an ACQ Award winner.” said Jake Robson, Editor in Chief of ACQ. “All category winners are in effect, a brand. In one sense, perhaps the most important sense, a brand is a promise. You know what you’re going to get with a well-branded product or service. It takes a lot of time, money and very hard work to build and maintain great brands, brands that can speak volumes in just a few syllables. It’s shorthand for what you are.

“All category winners in the ACQ Global Awards 2014 represent this ethos and this year, our dedicated subscribers have once again recognized the genuine leaders in the market. The quality of this year's entries is astonishingly high and a testament to the fact that the profession continues to innovate and deliver high-quality services even in economically challenging times.”

Since 2008, the ACQ Global Awards have been celebrating achievement, innovation and brilliance in their annual awards. Every year, they seek the assistance of their readers in recognizing industry leaders, eminent individuals, exemplary teams and distinguished firms, which they believe represent the benchmark of achievement and best practice in a variety of fields – and every year, they turn to their readers to help as they strive to recognize an ever-widening spectrum of services, markets, industries and organisations that the sector serves.
