SUSE brings high availability to private clouds
SUSE has announced the addition of high availability to SUSE Cloud, its OpenStack distribution for building infrastructure-as-a-service private clouds. SUSE Cloud 3 is the first enterprise OpenStack distribution with automated high availability configuration and deployment, ensuring the rapid startup and continuous operation of private cloud deployments. Top IT data security threats
The UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published a new security report highlighting eight of the most common IT security vulnerabilities that have resulted in organizations failing to keep people’s information secure. The flaws were identified during the ICO’s investigations into data breaches caused by poor IT security practices. Many of these incidents have led to serious security breaches resulting in the ICO issuing monetary penalties totalling almost a million pounds. The breaches could have been avoided if the standard industry practices highlighted in the report were adopted. More details.

Dimension Data rolls out Cloud Backup
Dimension Data has announced the availability of Cloud Backup across its global Managed Cloud Platform (MCP) locations. Cloud Backup is an optional backup and restore service available as an add-on to Dimension Data's enterprise-class public and private Compute-as-a-Service (CaaS) offerings. With Cloud Backup, organizations are able to backup their files, applications and system state data locally or to geographically separate MCP locations to ensure business continuity and protection for enterprise workloads.www.dimensiondata.com/cloud

PwC has announced the appointment of Will Brown as a director of its Enterprise Resilience practice. Will takes responsibility for building on and developing PwC’s significant overseas resilience business, and will also drive initiatives in key sectors such as oil & gas, mining, and utilities.
