The BCI launch new Working Paper Series
The Business Continuity Institute is launching a new service to business continuity professionals with its 'Working Paper Series'. On a quarterly basis, the BCI will publish a review paper on an issue that has been raised as an area of concern by business continuity and resilience professionals.

The first edition of this series focuses on one of the 'hot topics' for all organizations today – the issue of cyber risk and resilience, an area highlighted as being of great concern in the 2014 BCI Horizon Scan report.

Akamai advisory highlights security threat from Storm Network Stress Tester crimeware kit
Akamai Technologies has released a cybersecurity threat advisory – through the company’s Prolexic Security Engineering & Response Team (PLXsert) – about the Storm Network Stress Tester crimeware kit. This kit is capable of infecting Windows XP machines (and higher) for malicious uses. Once a PC is infected, the tool establishes remote administration (RAT) capabilities, enabling file uploads and downloads as well as the capability to launch four types of distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks.
