The European Commission has addressed a ‘reasoned opinion’ to Sweden for not having communicated the national measures transposing the provisions of the security of supply directive. The Commission considers that the transmission of a draft law is not sufficient for Sweden to fulfil its obligation of implementing the security of electricity supply directive. The reasoned opinion is the second step in the infringement procedure. Sweden has now two months to take the necessary measures to comply with the reasoned opinion. After that, the Commission can then decide to bring the case before the European Court of Justice.
