Get free weekly news by e-mailDuring March Automata Global Business Continuity Services will be launching a “feature-laden” business continuity management (BCM) software tool. According to Automata the web-based software includes state of the art business continuity management features and helps organisations easily create plans and manage them in an emergency. Furthermore, the software can catalogue and record details of all an organisation’s critical assets.

The software features an intuitive interface that integrates the plan creation, distribution, recovery management, and administration of business continuity plans of all sizes, from one location small businesses to enterprises that have thousands of sites. The application allows planners; cross-functional teams; business unit and operations managers; and critical recovery staff to work in a single environment, minimising the need to acquire, learn, and use multiple products. This results in the reduction of plan development and training issues and improves communications during a disaster recovery process. A sophisticated, advanced engine keeps all processes, procedures, documents, and team members in sync. in real time.

Plans can easily be created, interacted with and distributed across an organisation, by logging on to the secure server, using any web browser. The software uses a relational database allowing updates to be amended throughout the company immediately. All information is encrypted and stored in two highly resilient mirrored servers for maximum security.

Through a permission structure, customised by the client, plans can be authorised and updated immediately. All plans can then be tested against preset time allowances to determine accuracy and viability.

Automata will soon release further details of the software including its free business impact analysis (BIA) module and an automated notification system for contacting 1000’s of staff during an incident. Automata will be able to offer the software via an application service provider (ASP) model, payable through monthly subscriptions.
