Troux 4 launches new business continuity planning solution

Get free weekly news by e-mailTroux Technologies, a US-based provider of strategic IT management software, has launched the Troux Business Continuity Planning Solution. The company claims that this will dramatically reduce manual business continuity plan creation processes and greatly improve recovery reliability.

According to Troux, many organisations exist with a precarious gap between manual plan creation and testing, and effective plan execution. The gap exists because most business continuity plans do not align current IT resources with business processes, which creates a tremendous challenge in managing the rapid restoration of high-priority processes in the event of a disaster. The Troux 4 Business Continuity Planning Solution automates the creation of plans that align IT resources with critical business processes. The solution ‘virtually eliminates manual testing activities’, and ‘dynamically incorporates all changes to an enterprise IT environment into plans so that organisations can successfully generate and implement an up-to-date, prioritised recovery strategy when needed’.

"The unique approach of the Troux 4 Business Continuity Planning Solution protects a company from millions of dollars of losses from failed plans or inefficient recovery processes," said Jonas Lamis, general manager of Troux's Risk Management and Compliance business unit. "With Troux, we estimate organisations will experience a 90 percent reduction in downtime associated with plan gaps, and more than 50 percent reduction in the cost of current business continuity projects."

The Troux Business Continuity Planning Solution builds on the end-to-end IT baseline view created by the Troux platform, and enables modelling and analysis of "what if" scenarios that provide insight into the impact of change on recovery plans. This solution generates business impact analysis (BIA) scores to determine what's most important to recover and identifies gaps and automates testing and auditing processes. This solution stores plans in a central repository, and allows plans to be authored and edited in a centralised, sharable location that becomes the up-to-date source of information for prioritisation of recovery activities.
