CMS launches new backup and disaster recovery software

CMS Products Inc. (formerly CMS Peripherals) has released ‘BounceBack Professional’, the company's first-ever, stand-alone backup and disaster recovery software solution. The company also announced that BounceBack Professional will be loaded on CMS's entire line of ABSplus automatic backup systems and the new, award-winning, Velocity Series external high-speed backup system for desktop computers.

For under $100, BounceBack Professional users can safeguard their data and applications from theft, loss, viruses or complete hard drive failure. The software is compatible with any type of hard drive configuration including internal and external drives. BounceBack Professional will enable customers to deploy an easy-to-use backup strategy while incorporating restore capabilities for complete disaster recovery. Compatible with Windows operating systems, BounceBack Professional provides easy-to-use, automatic backup requiring little user intervention.

BounceBack Professional offers a number of powerful and flexible features including:
* Automatic Backup - utilising CMS's patent-pending Automatic Launcher technology, BounceBack Professional initiates a complete backup to any internal or external drive based on scheduled backup settings or even upon connection.

* Bootability - the software creates a bootable backup copy of the source drive for instant recovery. This feature allows users to swap their external backup drive with their notebook or desktop's failed internal hard drive.

* ‘QuickRestore’ - enables rapid data recovery by quickly restoring individual files and folders directly from the designated backup drive.

* Versioning - BounceBack Professional maintains multiple copies of specified files. During each backup, changed files are backed up and maintained individually. Multiple versions of the same file can be compared and restored on the source drive.

* Synchronisation - CMS's new software initiates a scan and compare of the backed up data files. The most recent files from either location are exchanged and synchronized with each other.

BounceBack Professional's suggested retail price is $99 and includes 30 days of free technical support with additional support and maintenance contracts available. The software is compatible with Windows 98SE/Me/NT4/2000/XP operating systems and supports internal IDE, Serial ATA drives and external USB and FireWire drives.
