A technical working party
looking into the role the government and media play following a
major disaster has published its report.
In an emergency situation the media has a crucial role to play in
delivering urgent advice and information direct to the public. This
role cannot be fulfilled if media organisations cannot communicate
either with the Government and the authorities or each other.
This report explores the major issues and makes
recommendations for developing a more resilient crisis communications
network.
