* keep off the streets;
* not travel; and
* avoid any demonstrations.

The US State Department has also issued a warning about Bolivia. It does not go as far as the UK warning but states that: “US citizens are advised to take precautions if traveling to the La Paz/El Alto area, overland between Oruro and Lake Titicaca , and to the Yungas Valley east of La Paz . Some blockades remain in these areas and in the Chapare region east of Cochabamba . Citizens should avoid demonstrations and makeshift roadblocks. Under no circumstances should anyone attempt to go around or through a blockade, even if the blockade appears to be unattended.”
