Asian private sector business continuity partnership established

Some 30 CEOs and executive managers based in Asia met earlier this week in Manila in the Philippines to officially launch the Asian Private Sector Partnership on Risk Reduction.

The new organization will focus on developing and promoting business continuity management in the region as well as increasing collaboration between companies to help maintain supply chains in the event of a disaster.

The Asian Private Sector Partnership has also agreed to provide concrete recommendations to be discussed at the Fifth Asian Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction to be held in Indonesia from 22nd-25th October 2012.
