A three-step process for creating organizational hierarchies

Advanced methods to create business continuity management hierarchies are the theme of a new white paper from COOP Systems. The subject covers how to create an organized business continuity management system using a visible, predictable, modular process.

The three steps discussed are:

  • Formation - creating the initial organizational BCM template(s) at the headquarters site, with all static and dynamic data identified and tested in a rapidly created production prototype.
  • Replication - using the tested template(s) to automatically create additional sites in the organizational hierarchy, with all data flows and security established.
  • Reporting - using business intelligence concepts to create reports using data held in resource tables and other sources.

"Older methods to build a BCM system have had problems" said Chris Alvord, CEO of COOP Systems. "Taking a repository direction means limitations on managing structured data and updating plans. A data modeling approach can have issues associated with long timelines, lack of visibility, and risk of an incomplete design."

"Our deployment methods have been developed and tested with our clients to allow rapid prototyping, followed by a step-by-step automated process for a production build."
