NOAA develops sea level rise impacts assessment tool

NOAA has published a new web-based tool which aims to help planners consider various scenarios related to future rises in sea level.

The Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer shows how various levels of sea level rise will impact US coastal communities. Completed areas include Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, Florida, and Georgia, with additional coastal counties to be added in the near future.

Scenarios which can be modelled include sea level rise inundation, uncertainty, flood frequency, marsh impacts, and socioeconomics.

Sea level rises from 0 to 6 feet above mean higher high water can be seen in detail using clickable camera icons.

Use the Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer.
