ANSI-HSSP workshop and plenary to focus on global supply chain security In January 2012, the White House released a National Strategy for Global Supply Chain Security as an important step in protecting the US’s ability to rely upon the worldwide network of transportation, postal, and shipping assets and supporting infrastructures. To help clarify and strengthen this important area of critical infrastructure protection, the American National Standards Institute Homeland Security Standards Panel (ANSI-HSSP) will host a workshop on September 12–13, 2012, to provide an overview of the national strategy and the status of the related work being done in the public and private sectors. The event will also serve as the ANSI-HSSP plenary meeting for 2012. The workshop will take a close look at the current landscape as well as standardization needs and solutions for global supply chain security in the US, Europe, and regionally. A keynote speaker will provide an overview of the national strategy for global supply chain security and its development. Public- and private-sector experts will then present specific perspectives on aviation and air cargo security, maritime and port security, rail and trucking security, as well as the entire end-to-end global supply chain. Anti-counterfeiting measures will also be addressed, along with standards and conformance solutions. Roundtable sessions will enable significant attendee participation and contribution to the discussions. The event will take place on September 12th and 13th in Washington, DC. Attendees must register by August 28, 2012, as space is limited. •Date: 4th July 2012 • US •Type: Article • Topic: Events
