Messagelabs and Messageone to provide joint e-mail security and continuity services

MessageLabs, Inc., a provider of managed e-mail security services for businesses worldwide, and MessageOne, Inc., a developer of e-mail continuity solutions, have announced a sales and marketing alliance through which they will jointly offer an e-mail security and continuity service package. This will feature MessageLabs’ anti-virus, anti-spam and porn filtering services and MessageOne’s on-demand Emergency Messaging System (EMS) for e-mail continuity and disaster recovery.

“For the first time, companies can purchase a complete solution for e-mail security, continuity and high availability from a single source,” said Jos White, president of MessageLabs Americas. “As viruses and spam converge to become even more powerful and pervasive, as evidenced with Sobig.F, and physical threats such as power outages, hurricanes and floods cause increasing damages and downtime, corporate IT departments are demanding services that protect, guarantee and optimise what for many is the primary method of communication. This combined solution does exactly that.”

MessageOne’s CEO Satin Mirchandani said, “E-mail is now a mission-critical and ubiquitous corporate application that can effectively paralyse companies when it goes down. By combining best-in-class solutions, MessageOne and MessageLabs now provide enterprises with the most powerful, flexible and affordable solution available today to protect e-mail systems from daily threats and prepare them for disasters.”
