Cloud-based business continuity strategies expected to increase in 2012

CA Technologies has released the results of an independent survey that reveals that investment in data protection continues to grow with more budget allocated to cloud computing. According to the survey of 1,987 companies across Europe, over a third (34 percent) of organizations expect cloud computing to play an increasingly important role in their business continuity plans over the next year.

The survey report 'Insights: Data Protection and the Cloud 2011' highlights that 67 percent of the companies surveyed have seen their data protection budgets remain flat in the last year, and just over a quarter (27 percent) are increasing investment.

Almost all the companies surveyed (94 percent) suffered application and data loss incidents in the last year.

Of the 1,987 businesses surveyed across Europe, 31 percent already have data that resides in the private cloud and 17 percent in the public cloud.
