UK terror threat level raised for public transport sector

The BBC is reporting that the risk of a terrorist attack on the UK public transport network has been raised from ‘substantial’ to ‘severe’, meaning that an incident is highly likely.

The sector specific threat levels which make up the overall UK threat level are not normally published, but on this occasion the change has been highlighted, presumably to ensure increased public vigilance.

The overall UK threat level remains unchanged at ‘severe’.
