A website has been set up to help Canterbury (NZ) businesses and residents recover from Saturday's major earthquake.
www.canterburyearthquake.org.nz contains information from councils, the Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management, the Ministry of Social Development, Environment Canterbury, The Ministry of Health and Canterbury District Health Board, EQC and ACC, Metrolink and others.
According to the above website most of the CBD is back to normal, with businesses and services running as usual. Buildings throughout most of the Central City are safe and in working order.
The CBD cordon remains in place in a small area bounded by Worcester Street, St Asaph Street, Colombo Street and Madras Street. Access to the cordon is available to people working within the cordon in buildings that have received a green, all-clear sticker. Also for property/business owners within the cordon who need to assess damage to their buildings. People wishing to enter the cordon area should approach police posted at the cordon.
