The Singapore Computer Society (SCS) used a conference at the Singapore Management University to launch its new ‘Certification in IT Business Continuity Management’ (CITBCM).
The certification programme is for individual IT business continuity managers and, according to SCS, “ensures that professionals are equipped to handle the various aspects of IT business continuity management, including disaster recovery planning”.
The certification will assess a candidate’s competence in seven key areas that are mapped to the IDA’s National Infocomm Competency Framework (NICF).
These are:
- Program Management
- Risk Management
- Business & Technology Impact Analysis
- Resiliency Strategy
- Planning and Testing
- Crisis Communications Management
- Audit, Review and Maintenance.
The SS507 Singapore Standard for ICT DR services and SS540 Singapore Standard for BCM standards have been incorporated into the seven areas of the certification programme.
The launch took place on 8th July 2010.
