SchlumbergerSema expands DeXa.Ensure business continuity services into Boston area

SchlumbergerSema has announced the expansion of its DeXa.Ensure business continuity services into the Boston area and surrounding states to meet current and projected demand in that region. Schlumberger currently operates over 40 business continuity sites in 11 countries, and continues to expand its two DeXa.Ensure business continuity sites serving the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area.

The DeXa.Ensure range of services includes disaster recovery, business continuity, continuity consulting, high availability, and collocation/hosting and managed services.

SchlumbergerSema will host the DeXa.Ensure services in MediaPoint Inc.’s class A Boston facility, which includes a 25,000 square-foot data centre and is situated in premises where over 80,000 square feet of space are available for work area recovery utilisation. Its data centre is a multi-carrier facility with access to the leading telecom and fibre providers, and includes fully redundant HVAC, UPS (uninterruptible power source), generators, security and power systems.

“With the heightened security alerts from US Homeland Security, unforeseen events and even erratic weather, clients continue to refine and expand their business recovery plans to resume business operations quickly and seamlessly,” said Joseph Riscica, SchlumbergerSema’s business development director, North America. “Boston is one of the nation’s largest financial centres and a major technology hub, and demand there for business continuity services is growing dramatically.”
