Emergency Office, ICM Business Continuity’s remote working solution, beat off six other finalists to scoop the prestigious ‘Most Innovative Solution’ category at the 2010 Business Continuity Awards.
Launched in 2009, Emergency Office has quickly established itself as a market leading solution that allows people to connect seamlessly and quickly to their office networks, applications and live data from any broadband-enabled computers, anywhere in the world. Unique in the market, Emergency Office gives 100 percent fast, simple, secure access to the user’s environment at the push of a button.
A USB-stick based solution, Emergency Office not only enables the entire enterprise to work flexibly, but critically also be part of a business continuity plan. It answers the need of companies that have had to decide who in their organization was needed to work at a recovery centre as part of their continuity planning provision. Most business continuity strategies provide for only 30 percent of those most critical staff, provision for the remaining 70 percent has often been sporadic, with staff deemed ‘non-critical’ expected to work from home, fine in theory but often impossible and risky in practice.
Commenting on the award win, Mike Osborne, managing director of ICM Continuity Services commented, “This award is a brilliant commendation of the ingenuity and forward looking thinking of the whole team at ICM.
“With the recent severe weather incidents and even volcanic ash impact, businesses have come to realise how essential it is to have their workforce fully operational when both in and out of the office and this is an ingenious and very low cost solution that delivers massive improvements in staff functionality. Congratulations are well deserved for everyone at ICM, and the Award is a great demonstration of our vision and technical knowhow”.
The Most Innovative Solution 2010 award is the latest in a string of successes for ICM, who in previous years have picked up the ‘Business Continuity Service Provider of the Year’ prize three times, in 2003, 2007 and 2008.
In 2007 ICM walked away with the Most Innovative Solution Award for ‘Disaster Cover Direct’, the company’s straight-forward, low cost dual-cover disaster recovery solution for companies that gives immediate recovery facilities for both a firm’s IT equipment and access to one of ICM's 18 regional business continuity centre.
