According to the White HouseCyberspace Policy Review, between 2008 and 2009, American business losses due to cyber attacks had grown to more than $1 trillion of intellectual property. In this report, the President asked for a program that would help assign monetary value to cyber risks and consequences, giving organizations greater ability and incentive to address cybersecurity.

The Financial Management of Cyber Risk: An Implementation Framework for CFOs responds directly to the President’s request, offering a pragmatic action plan that addresses cybersecurity from an enterprise-wide perspective.

The briefing will begin with a video presentation and a role play depicting the dynamics of typical executive reaction to a cybersecurity attack. There will then be a presentation demonstrating how the new publication offers a framework for preventing such attacks by developing an enterprise-wide system of risk management.
