 An in-depth review by external experts to assess the global response to the H1N1 pandemic and identify lessons for the future is underway.
The assessment will be conducted by the International Health Regulations Review Committee, a committee of experts with a broad mix of scientific expertise and practical experience in public health.
The review has three key objectives:
- Assess the functioning of the International Health Regulations (2005);
- Assess the ongoing global response to the pandemic H1N1 (including the role of WHO); and
- Identify lessons learned important for strengthening preparedness and response for future pandemics and public health emergencies.
