Kroll Ontrack launches data recovery software for Exchange 2010

Get free weekly news by e-mailKroll Ontrack has announced the availability of Ontrack PowerControls version 6.0, providing complete support for Microsoft Exchange Server 2010.

The new tool offers primary mailbox, Personal Archive and Recoverable Items mailbox management. It also provides an efficient migration path to Exchange 2010, allowing IT administrators to significantly reduce the time and resources required to search, identify copy, restore and export data from the increasingly robust messaging platform.

In addition to compatibility with the most current version of Exchange Server, Ontrack PowerControls 6.0 specifically:

* Supports the Exchange Personal Archive mailbox feature. Associated with a user’s primary mailbox, the Personal Archive provides direct access to email within the archive, just as they would their primary mailboxes. With Ontrack PowerControls 6.0, IT administrators can search, restore, export and report all mailbox data, including archived items, in a centralised tool. This functionality simplifies time-intensive and intricate IT functions including: restoring single mailboxes, identifying potentially relevant data for legal discovery or compliance, and exporting data for further investigation or business continuity purposes.

* Supports the Exchange Recoverable Items feature. Exchange 2010 is equipped with retention management policies, which allows IT to retain and place a hold on email that a user has edited or deleted. Supporting Recoverable Items ensures comprehensive management of all email associated with Exchange including Recoverable Items, in addition to primary mailboxes and Personal Archives.
