India-based Ontrack Systems Limited has announced
that it has received a firm letter of intent from one of its customers
in the UK contracting Ontrack to provide IS managed services on
a global basis. The value of the deal is around £1 million
and is likely to commence from October 2003.
In order to service this contract the company
is expanding its operations in the UK and will also be augmenting
its management and service delivery teams in India and UK.

Systems said that as part of the contract preparations the company
is evaluating the establishment of a backup and disaster recovery
centre in Cardiff. “We expect to spend around Rs. 15 million
(£200,000) in the first phase in setting up facilities and
based on additional contracts we are likely to scale up the investments.”
