Business continuity in Australia and New Zealand

The third Biennial Australia and New Zealand Business Continuity Benchmarking Survey was conducted jointly by Continuity Forum and the Australasian Chapter of the Business Continuity Institute earlier in 2009.

Key findings of the study included:

- The majority of organizations that took part had clearly adopted the principles of good practice in business continuity management as defined by the Business Continuity Institute’s Good Practice Guide.
- Testing and exercising to validate business continuity strategies was widely adopted.
- Two-thirds of respondents have at least one full-time employee working in a business continuity role.
- Over 65 percent of organizations confirmed that the Board, CEO or equivalent organizational leader have overall leadership of business continuity management.
