Get free weekly news by e-mailBSI has announced that Telefónica O2 UK Limited has become the first mobile phone operator to achieve certification to BS25999 for all of its UK business undertakings.

O2 has achieved the standard in recognition of the robust processes it has put in place to ensure continuity of service for enterprise and consumer customers. In addition to minimising the risk of network downtime, achieving the standard also supports O2’s role as an essential service provider in the event that a state of emergency is declared by the UK authorities, in accordance with the Civil Contingencies Act.

“Achieving BS25999 certification with BSI is evidence of our level of commitment to providing a reliable and efficient service to our customers. BS25999 demonstrates the quality of the systems that we have in place to support our customers’ needs,” commented David Clarke, the Business Continuity Manager at O2.
