Change is in the air?

Get free weekly news by e-mailContinuity Central is currently conducting a survey which seeks to determine what changes and trends we can expect to see in the business continuity profession during 2010. The results so far indicate that many business continuity managers are planning to make substantial changes to their business continuity programs, with 40 percent of respondents stating that they expect to see large changes in the way their organization manages business continuity during 2010. 50 percent expect to see small changes.

Almost half of respondents expect to see their business continuity budgets increase in 2010, with 48 percent stating that ‘Spending will be higher in 2010 compared to 2009’. 3 percent said that spending would be ‘much higher’. 24 percent of respondents thought that spending on business continuity would remain the same, with 15 percent saying that it would be lower and 9 percent that it would be much lower.

We have had some very detailed responses to the open questions requesting information on what changes will be made during 2010. These responses will be published in the final survey write-up in January.

The survey is still open: if you have not yet taken part, we would really appreciate you taking a few minutes to do so: http://www.continuitycentral.com/survey21.html
