As part of the ongoing securities industry testing initiative, Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, the Futures Industry Association and the Financial Information Forum will jointly lead the 2009 US financial sector business continuity test. This will take place on October 24th.
The test will follow the format of prior sector-wide tests, in which firms submit test orders and transactions from their backup sites to markets and utilities. The exercise will involve test transactions for equities, options, futures, fixed income, settlement and payments. The test is supported by all major exchanges, markets and industry utilities.
SIFMA will compile aggregate results but will not reveal the individual performance of any organization.
More details of what the test will involve can be found on the 2009 Industry-Wide BCP Test index page.
