ASIS International has just released a new book titled ‘Executive Protection: Rising to the Challenge,’ by Robert L. Oatman, CPP.
Executive protection (EP) — the task of keeping key personnel safe from intentional and unintentional harm — is a widespread, recognized specialty in the security field. The purpose of EP is to safeguard people who face an above-average level of risk or whose security is especially important to an organization. This new book focuses mainly on the protection of corporate executives.
Typically, EP is performed by corporate employees for a corporation’s top tier of executives, by outside contractors or by a combination of EP professionals.
Author Robert Oatman is one of this US’s preeminent providers of executive protection. His skills were developed through both operational and command-level training with the US Secret Service.
‘Executive Protection: Rising to the Challenge’ is available to ASIS members for $27 and to non-members for $38, if ordered before Sept. 17. After Sept. 17, the cost will be $34 for members and $48 for non-members. To order this book (item #1859) from the ASIS Bookstore visit www.asisonline.org/bookstore
