Executives from Australia’s critical infrastructure businesses attended an E-security Executive Breakfast Briefing on June 10th in Sydney to discuss e-security issues and their impact on critical infrastructure.
Held as part of the National E-security Awareness Week, the breakfast launched a series of briefings for critical infrastructure business executives.

“It is important that government and industry work together to protect Australia’s critical infrastructure,” the Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy said.

“E-security is a shared responsibility and government, businesses and individuals all have an important role to play in ensuring Australia has a robust e-security environment.”

As part of the event, Defence Signals Directorate (DSD) led the briefing on emerging e-security challenges and how they can potentially impact on Australia’s critical infrastructure.

The Attorney-General, Robert McClelland said, “E-security is crucial to the protection of Australian critical infrastructure and today’s briefing was an excellent way to raise awareness with senior executives of the importance of e-security for critical infrastructure businesses.”

“The briefing was held as part of the Australian Government’s Trusted Information Sharing Network for Critical Infrastructure Protection, which allows the Government to work with owners and operators of critical infrastructure to build a more resilient Australia,” Mr McClelland said.
