Fugate meets with US Chamber Of Commerce National Security Task Force

Get free weekly news by e-mailFEMA Administrator Craig Fugate met yesterday (June 10) with the US Chamber of Commerce National Security Task Force, to discuss public-private partnerships in emergency management.

During the meeting, Fugate emphasized to attendees the importance of private sector engagement and how it plays a critical role in public awareness, preparedness and disaster response.

"The best and most effective response occurs when everyone works together in a unified and coordinated way. Disasters start and end at the local level, and our private sector partners are a critical member of the national emergency response team - both locally and nationally," said Administrator Fugate. "Today's event provided me the opportunity to meet with these vital members of the response team, and to continue to ensure that the whole team - from businesses to individuals - is working together to better prepare for and respond to the next disaster."
