London Regional Resilience Forum publishes Severe Weather Debrief

Get free weekly news by e-mailThe London Regional Resilience Forum has published a document which seeks to capture the lessons learned from February’s severe weather. Heavy snowfall covering Greater London on Monday 2nd February gave accumulations of snow which have not been seen in the capital for eighteen years. ‘Severe Weather Debrief’ provides recommendations for improving response to a future similar incident and also for improving incident response generally. These include:

* Amendments to the Command and Control Protocol which would give a higher priority to communicating with all stakeholders during incidents, especially where COBR is utilised.

* TfL to review its emergency plans.

* Consideration should be given to formalising and documenting the role of London Local Authority Gold, and the London Local Authority Co-ordination Centre in such events in future.
