Gearing up for Global Business Continuity Awareness Week

Get free weekly news by e-mailThe Business Continuity Institute (BCI) has finalised its preparations for Global Business Continuity Awareness Week, which is taking place from March 23 through to March 27, 2009.

The week aims to raise overall awareness of business continuity, disaster recovery and resiliency around the world and is being run in partnership with various organizations.

“The goal of Global Business Continuity Awareness Week is to raise understanding of business continuity management with opinion leaders in government and industry,” said Lyndon Bird, International Technical Director for The BCI. “In these uncertain times, we need to raise the profile of the discipline and to encourage corporate excellence in business continuity.”

“As a global business community, we are faced with an unprecedented level of uncertainty and risk ‐ the Global Business Continuity Awareness Week will play a vital role in reinforcing this message by getting people to think about the aftermath of the recent economic, cyber and natural disasters,” Bird added.

“We must provide the information in a way that will resonate with the business continuity management professional at the human level.”

To help organizations make the most of the week, the BCI has launched a new resources and information website, www.TheBusinessContinuityAwarenessWeek.org
