Standards Australia cancels business continuity standard consultation process

Get free weekly news by e-mailStandards Australia has been developing a new three-part business continuity standard, which will become AS 5050 when it is completed.

As part of the standards development process, on 25th February Standards Australia released a draft for public comment. However, in an unusual step the organisation has now withdrawn the draft and terminated the current consultation process.

According to a statement made via the BCI Australia website, the cancellation of the draft process, initially given a deadline of 29th April 2009, was made "after it became clear to the OB-007 committee that there were some outstanding corrections and items for incorporation into the drafts."
