Mauritius puts itself forward as a ‘global disaster recovery and business continuity centre’

Get free weekly news by e-mailThe Mauritius Board of Investment (BOI) is using the Mumbai Nascom leadership summit (February 11th to 13th) to promote Mauritius as a ‘global disaster recovery and business continuity centre’.

BOI assistant director Mahen Govinda says that: “The country is strategically located in the Asian, African and Australian continents and offers proximity to businesses. We have experienced bilingual and qualified people in the [disaster recovery] sector and we also have advanced infrastructures that will no doubt be an added plus.”

At the Mumbai event, BOI will sell the idea that Mauritius is an excellent location to set up a regional off shoring hub and will point out at the forum that there are already two major Indian MNCs, namely Infosys and Hinduja that have set up disaster recovery and business continuity centres in the country.
