INTERNATIONAL SOS ACTIVITIES
International SOS, a crisis management company, has confirmed that a number of its clients were directly affected by the bomb blast. The casualties are both Indonesian nationals and expatriates, with patients suffering from burns, smoke inhalation and injuries to the head and body. One SOS member has died as a result of the blast.

SOS is evacuating seriously injured patients to Singapore for emergency treatment. One of these patients has already been evacuated by SOS air ambulance and a further SOS evacuation is currently underway using a Hercules C130 airplane. The C130 has been converted and fully fitted with medical equipment by SOS and will be capable of transporting up to 14 patients. International SOS is sending medical escort teams of doctors and nurses to accompany both flights to make sure the patients are stabilized and monitored closely during transit.
In the meantime, International SOS has set up crisis management teams in Jakarta and Singapore to make sure that clients and anxious families receive immediate advice and assistance. Also, the SOS Security Expert for Asia is in Jakarta to review the security situation and provide assistance on the ground to SOS members and employees.

The International SOS Clinics in Jakarta initially treated some of the less severely injured and are continuing to manage these patients.
