‘A Short Guide to Local Authority Mutual Aid’

Mutual aid between UK local authorities is an important emergency response tool and during the summer of 2008 a draft booklet, prepared by a joint Cabinet Office-LGA-Solace team and entitled ‘A Short Guide to Local Authority Mutual Aid’, was sent to local authorities in England and Wales for a six-week consultation.

The consultation drew a range of comments from practitioners and these have been incorporated into the final version of the document which is now available here.
