| Information risk assessment in less than two hours Following the successful launch of the CRAMM Version 5 Information Security Toolkit earlier this year, UK information security firm Insight Consulting has unbundled the rapid risk assessment module of the product and introduced it as a stand-alone CRAMM Express product. CRAMM Express will retain many of the powerful features of the full CRAMM Version 5 product but has been designed to conduct a high-level effective risk assessment in less than two hours. With end users specifically in mind, Express ensures a comprehensive risk analysis without expecting security expertise, making it ideally suited for SMEs and large corporates alike due to its low cost and simple approach. Using well-proven guidelines, CRAMM Express helps to qualitatively identify the business impact to a project or organisation should critical business information be unavailable, disclosed, destroyed or interfered with. The software also allows the assessment of the real likelihood of almost forty different threat types occurring within the organisation and their relevance to the business. Controls are generated that could address the risks identified.
